Welcome to the only store on the planet where you can get minstrel style bones in rare budget priced exotic woods and 3 standard widths.

Narrow
Narrow Pea Patch Minstrel-style bones are just 1" (2.5 cm) in width. The slim width makes them relatively light in weight and easy to grip. These bones are perfect for smaller hands or players who prefer narrow instruments.

Regular
Regular Pea Patch Minstrel-style bones are a moderate 1-1/8" (2.9 cm) in width. The traditional design is perfect for most hand sizes and the shape delivers a superior dynamic tonal range.

Wide
Wide Pea Patch Minstrel-style bones are a broad 1-1/4" (3.2 cm) in width. The brawny shape provides substantial heft and creates a powerful presence. They feel quite stout and burly.

Here's What You Get:
Two pairs (4 individual bones, like in the photo). That's enough to rattle one pair of bones in each hand, or two pairs in one hand.

Matched Set
Extremely hard to find item. Few music shops have the knowledge, experience, and large enough inventory to offer matched sets of bones. We've been matching sets for more than a decade. What's more, Pea Patch Bones are designed to our custom specifications. Your matched set was carefully selected by weight, shape, and wood grain—from a single batch of bones. For that reason the likelihood your entire set was crafted from even the same plank of wood is quite possible. So if you want a carefully matched set of premium rhythm bones at a modest price, then you have come to the right place.

It varies in color from shades of brown to red or chocolate to violet, and is irregularly streaked with black. The grain is typically straight, but occasionally wavy. Its texture is medium to rather coarse and the wood has large pores that are quite irregular in size and position. The surface is slightly oily or waxy in appearance, somewhat gritty to the touch, and very resistant to decay and insect attack.

When cut, rosewood releases a fragrant aroma similar to roses. The fragrance has also been reported when the wood is burned (but you are wise not to mention this aspect to your detractors). Rosewood has a distinctive taste, we are told—and we will just take their word for it.

Sink or Float?
None of the charts we found rated rosewood with a specific gravity greater than 1.0. This surprised us as rosewood is a very hard and dense wood. Over the years we tossed various pairs of Rosewood bones into a tub of water to see what happens. As we expected, the darker, denser pairs sunk. But the lighter color pairs floated. So some pairs will have a specific gravity greater than 1.0, but the specific gravity of other pairs will be less.
