Matched Sets (2 pairs, 4 individual bones)
Closely matched pairs
Extremely hard to find item.
Hard to Find. Easy to Order.
Few if any music shops have the knowledge, experience, and large enough inventory to offer matched sets of bones. We've been matching sets for more than a decade. But in the past, snagging one of our carefully matched sets has always been hit or miss. But now, finally, you can order matched sets as a standard inventory item—right on this page.
How Your Set Was Matched
Pea Patch Bones are designed to our custom specifications. Your matched set was carefully selected by weight, shape, and wood grain from a single batch of bones. That means your matched set is among the pick of the litter.
What's So Great About Matched Sets?
Truth in Advertising: A pair (yet alone a set) does not need to match in order to play well. In fact, you can rattle bones comprised of virtually any shape and combination of materials (e.g. wood, bone, slate, metal, plastic). Sometimes I'll even rattle cutlery. In fact, you can rattle just about any size or shape of "bones" as long as one of them is flat. For example, you can rattle a pair of dull knives, or one knife and a pencil—but not two pencils.
Yes, I enjoy mixing different kinds of individual bones. But like other players, I also appreciate—and long for—matched sets. And for two-handed players, matched sets of four bones can be nirvana. So do you need matched sets of four? No. But matched sets enable you to get a more consistant grip. They also look nice. And they make it easier to organize the bones in your gig bag.
Matched sets cost no more than buying individual pairs separately. That's right, there is no extra cost for our carefully matched sets. And since the shipping is combined, they are actually a tad cheaper. All in all, matched sets are a thrifty way to enhance your personal bones collection. So if you want a matched set of premium rhythm bones at a modest price, then you have come to the right place.
