Product Specs

This battered pair of vintage bones first surfaced in 1998. They  were found in the Albany, New York area by a couple who clean houses.

Says Mrs. Byrne:

We used to clean out houses and I can't remember which house they came from. We have had them for over 5 years and are now trying to clean out our house. It would have been from the Albany, Latham or Troy, NY area...We are Irish and know that they are used in Celtic music.

The bones look like painted maple and produce a distinct warm sound. One bone has some sort of scrape marks on it. Probably used in self-defense by an itinerant minstrel player.

Features
  • Black painted wood: Possibly maple
  • Produces nice warm sound
  • Minstrel Style Design
