Exotic Tapered Rosewood Bones Deliver Strong Sharp Tone

Easy to Grip, Easy to Play
The main feature about these bones is the taper. They are designed to be thin at the top and thick at the bottom. Some players find the thin top more comfortable to grip than standard-width bones. But the engineering "magic" comes from the thicker bottom segment of the bones. The thicker width adds extra weight which provides more kinetic energy at the bottom where the bones strike together, and that makes the bones easier to click. At least that is the theory.

Exotic Rosewood Delivers Strong Sharp Tone
After ebony, rosewood was the wood of choice for "Mister Bones" during the minstrel era. When cut, rosewood releases a fragrant aroma similar to roses. The fragrance has also been reported when the wood is burned (but you are wise not to mention this aspect to your detractors). Rosewood has a distinctive taste, we are told - but I will just take their word for it.

Great for Kids and People with Small Hands
The narrow (7/8") width makes these bones ideal for women, kids and any player with small hands. Another advantage you will like is the taper. That's because the thin top makes for a more comfortable grip between your fingers.

Narrow Width and Crisp Sharp Tone
Narrow & Thin: Advantage or disadvantage? You decide--
At 7/8" wide, these bones are rather narrow. I prefer wider bones because they are easier for my "regular" size hands to grip. And wide bones make it easier to generate a greater dynamic tonal range (especially using the two-finger "Irish" style grip pictured above). These rosewood bones are also rather thin. Some players with smaller hands might consider this an advantage. However, I would prefer them more massive. And in fact, last time we checked, these rosewood bones *are* slightly thicker than their ebony counterparts, which is why they weigh just a tad more - and rattle a little easier. But no matter what your hand size, if you enjoy the traditional American (one-finger-between-the-bones "minstrel") style of playing, I think you will be delighted with the strong, sharp and crisp tone of these narrow bones.

Why Choose these Bones?
If you have small or medium size hands; want exotic rosewood musical instruments at a budget price; want bones that are comfortable on your fingers and produce a strong sharp tone, then Dobani Tapered Rosewood Bones are for you.
