What Makes this Small Cowbell So Special?
Hot Selling Professional Musical Instruments
Believe it or not, these hard-to-find cowbells were out of stock an entire 2-1/2 years. It was back in the summer of 2008 when I first added the two small cowbells to the inventory. And they sold out almost immediately. In fact, the 3.5" bells sold out the very next month. And the 4.5" version sold out just one month after that.
Washboard Players Love these Bells
Yes, I knew the bells would work great for the Zinc King #703 washboard because their tone is rather strong and the size is relatively small. But I did not realize at the time how popular the bells would eventually become. As it turns out, washboard players absolutely adore these two bells. I couldn't believe how fast they disappeared.
Vanished from the Marketplace
These two little cowbells have been out of stock from the summer of 2008 until January, 2010. During that time I was unable to find a distributor who would sell these professional quality musical cowbells to a small online shop like mine. Then late last year I poked around the Tycoon Percussion website to check on the bells again - and as fate would have it, the bells were gone!
Sole U.S. Distributor
So I decided to contact Tycoon Percussion and ask about the missing bells. A sales rep got back with me explaining, "We don't carry them over here in the US." I told him washboard players love these two sizes and also explained how a few years ago the bells were good sellers at my online shop. So the rep placed an order with the factory in Thailand and said he would contact me when the shipment came in.
Months passed and I never heard back from him. Then one afternoon the phone rang and the rep told me the cowbells had finally arrived. "The factory shipped a dozen each," he said. "Great," I replied, "I'll take the whole lot." Then he added, "By the way, no other music shop carries these two cowbells. Bone Dry Music is the sole U.S. distributor."
So do yourself a favor and order one or both of these rare hand-hammered heavy gauge brushed chrome-steel cowbells. Do it now - while you still have the chance. After all, there is no telling how long the bells will remain in stock this time around.
