At this time we are just a small itty-bitty home-based business. We specialize in folkroots rhythm instruments (plus bulb horns, thimbles, and rosin powder, but that's another story). This position starts you as an Ecommerce Marketing Assistant, leading to Marketing Manager. Responsibilities include photographing products, creating product pages, and managing marketing programs on our Amazon, eBay, and Volusion ecommerce channels.

Requirements
- Ecommerce Marketing
A large amount of your time will be spent working with our three ecommerce channels. You must know basic html and have experience marketing on Amazon, eBay, and Volusion or be willing to spend your own time learning how. Experience with JavaScript is a plus.
- Copywriting
You must be able to write clear concise product information, formulate easy-to-follow how-to instructions, and know how to compose a compelling offer. Experience writing direct response copy is a big plus.
- Product Descriptions
You must be able to write a clearly written product description that helps a customer make an informed buying choice.
- Social Media
You must be proficient administering a Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube account.
- Newsletter
You must be able to write and produce a monthly email newsletter. Experience using Mailchimp or similar newsletter software is a plus.
- Product Photography
You must be able to shoot and prepare photos for online product pages. Experience with Photoshop Elements or similar photo editing software a plus. Experience shooting, editing, and posting videos on YouTube highly desired.
- Graphic Design
You must be able to design and produce printed matter such as product labels, coupons, product information pamphlets, how-to instructions, booklets, and the like. We print most of our printed matter on the copier, so we're not real fancy. Some items (such as booklets) we design and send to a commercial online printer. Experience with page layout and illustration software highly desirable. Experience creating documents using Adobe Acrobat highly desirable.
- Spreadsheets
You must be able to create and design spreadsheets to manage our marketing efforts. Experience creating formulas that organize and improve workflow is highly desired.
- Computers
You must be proficient using Mac computers. We are Mac based. Ability to manage and troubleshoot the network and resolve technical issues is a big plus.
- Excellent Math Skills
You must excel at basic math and understand pricing (e.g. calculate retail and wholesale prices, set profit margins, factor overhead, shipping/handling, labor and such). Experience managing an inventory is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial Ability
This position offers partnership potential. You must have the entrepreneurial ability to handle every aspect of the operation, the discipline to keep the business on track, and the vision to take the company into the future.
- Traditional Music
You must be knowledgeable about traditional music. Performance experience with old-time, ragtime, minstrel, Cajun, Irish, early blues/jazz, or jug band is a big plus.
- Occasional Lifting
From time to time we send and receive truck shipments. You must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Compensation
Compensation is commensurate with experience, with incremental pay increases geared to gross sales - plus generous profit sharing after three months. So the more productive you become on the job, the more money you earn. Even better, you can switch compensation from an hourly rate to a percentage of company gross sales. That earns you virtually the same pay as an owner. But in the beginning, while you are learning to market our products and drive sales on Amazon, eBay, and Volusion, achieving the big bucks will be a little down the road.
