Vintage Rosewood Minstrel Style Bones
Matched set of 3 bones with fine glossy finish

The wood grain of two of the bones make them a closely matched pair. The other bone is also rosewood and indistinguishable in size, weight, shape and finish. But the grain indicates it was cut from a different section of timber.

This set was associated with a set of 3 Vintage Kid-size Minstrel Style Bones.

How Old Are They?
The hefty weight and smooth glossy finish makes me think these instruments were produced for a professional Mister Bones, or at least a serious player. And since they are associated with the kid bones, they could possibly date from the 1880s or 1890s. But that is just a guess. In any event, weighing in at a substantial 1.5 ounces, the bones generate the kinetic energy you need to make them rattle easily. And they feel great in your hands!
