Nice commemorative plate celebrates the life and times of Dan Emmett, composer of Dixie. Created for the Knox County Historical Society in Mt. Vernon, Ohio by Kettlesprings Kilns, a specialty plate company in business over 50 years.

Dan Emmett is founder of the Virginia Minstrels, the group that launched the minstrel era. He is the man who literally set the stage for the American pop music industry.
