They live and work in the small East Texas town of Crockett (named for the Tennessee legend who passed by on his way to the Alamo).
Originally from Yonkers, Guy and Pipp moved out west to take over the family cattle ranch. The talented brothers brought their musical abilities with them and have spent a lifetime playing gigs from coast to coast. They have toured England and even represented the State of Texas at the World Expo in Japan.
The brothers operate the Camp Street Cafe & Store featuring cowboy music and poetry - and revitalized the spirit of blues legend Lightnin' Hopkins in the process.
Old-Time Music with a Relaxed Western Flavor
This delightful cd honors the slower paced life of the cowboy from the Old West. The eclectic mix of music celebrates Celtic roots music, country blues, minstrel tunes and medicine show songs played in the style of the East Texas range.

The Gillette Brothers are two of the nicest people you could ever meet. We met at the 11th annual Bones Fest in Wisconsin during the summer of 2007. The first time I saw Pipp was in the parking lot while I was unloading boxes from my van for the Bones Fest Marketplace. He came over to say hello and we ended up chatting right there in the parking lot about bones and minstrelsy. Looking back, I think he was mostly listening while I was talking his ears off.
One of the highlights of Bones Fest XI for me was jamming with the Gillette Brothers. You can see my bones shop tables in the YouTube video above. They are on the left where Kenny Wolin and Steve Wixson are rattlin' way.
These slower paced Old West style recordings are probably a little different from most traditional music you might be familiar with. I know you will enjoy them. In fact, I guarantee it. So order a CD or two and check them out today!
