A History of  The Minstrel Show
By Frank Sweet

  • How did minstrel shows get started?
  • What was a minstrel show like?
  • Why did they die out?
  • What impact do minstrel shows have on life today?
Find the answers to these burning questions and more in A History of the Minstrel Show by Rhythm Bones Society member Frank Sweet.

This thirty-two page illustrated booklet is brief and direct. The comprehensive work is well-documented, easy to understand, and reveals the basic facts you need to know about those mysterious minstrel shows of yesterday.

The booklet offers a progressive view of the minstrel era, but avoids all that out-of-context emotional baggage you see in so many other narratives. In short, Frank explains the rise and fall of minstrelsy, then lets you move on with your life.

And hey, for $3.95 you can't hardly go wrong.
